I'm not sure if I did something or what. I reinstalled Coreldraw and wiped it from the system. I have a default style set that I use between my home office and work office. I have been using it for months. However, last week something happened. My default colors and text keep changing. I also don't have the pop up menu come up anymore where if you want to change the document's default color it warns you. I can't get that to come up anymore. Now if I change the font, it is automatically changing my Artistic Text Default Object Properties without warning.
Default Object Properties are controlled by styles, and you can directly modify them in the Object Styles docker:
When you have "Artistic Text" selected there, then changing the properties in the lower part of the docker sets those properties for new Artistic Text created in that document.
If you want to save it as the default for Artistic Text in new documents, you can right-click on "Artistic Text", then click on "Set as New Document Default".
Style sets can also be imported and exported in that docker. If you are working with an existing document, that allows you to import a bunch of styles for default object properties all at once.

If you want to see the warning for on-the-fly changing of default object properties, then check in Options>CorelDRA>Warnings:
Try what Eskimo suggest and if it fails to make you happy try creating templates, for using multiple styles it's a crude method but it works easily for simple sets.
Thanks, this is how I've always gone about doing this. My default style set is my own making. I use Styles for various things such as dimension lines and other stuff. The problem is the default is automatically setting itself to whatever the last color or font I used was. I just fixed it by resetting my workspace. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
