Keep enclosed objects transparent or they should be considered an area not to be printed on (no filling)

I have Coreldraw 2019 and want to do the following: In a square with a border 4 points thick there is a circle that is completely inside the square and has a border with a thickness of 1 point. I fill the square with red. Because the circle has no fill, its background is also red. However, the circle should have no background, so in principle it should be considered an area that cannot be printed on. How can I ensure this? Combining the two objects works in this specific case, but under no circumstances should the outline properties of another object be adopted.
