I always save PDF files with the page size defined by selected objects which has always worked fine in all previous versions of CorelDRAW.Always used a custom preset where I choose the page size by using the "defined by selected objects" as opposed to "defined by document" - shown below
This works fine if the objects are selected first, then I click on "export to pdf" and the pdf page size will be based on the selected objects.Shown below are the objects which you can see are over the page area in corel, then what I get in the resulting pdf.
The problem arises when I don't select any objects and then click "export to pdf" - on all previous version this would still result in the page size defined by selected objects anyway, on the export dialog box this is still visible (greyed out but still selected), now the pdf file will be based on the page size in CorelDRAWI'm assuming this is a new bug in CorelDRAW 2024?I know that if I select the objects this will work correctly but it's hard to break a daily workflow habit built up over years...
Thank you for looking :)
You say your process worked in all previous versions of CorelDRAW?
Yes indeed, I've just tried in CorelDRAW X8 just now and that works as I expected. As far as I remember it's always worked the same way up to version 2023.It's how I prepare files for my large format printers, always done them the same way for a number of years.
It may be that you're a victim of Corel fixing a previous bug. Publishing the selected object to PDF or in fact the selected object to any export filter should not work if nothings selected.
That what I mean about CorelDRAW speaking Canadian.
I see what you mean, but still - if no object is selected the page size is still showing as 'defined by selected objects' and not 'defined by document' even if they are greyed out. There should be a third option 'defined by overall objects (selected or not)' - that would sort it out :)
Think about this, what if the designer has many multiple objects on the desktop?
I have gotten files that had very small, almost invisible objects 6 feet off the page.
