Seeking Inspiration: Menu/Restaurant Graphic Design Projects

Hello CorelDRAW community,

I'm a graphic designer who frequently works with local businesses, and I have a new client in the food service industry. They are a casual dining spot, similar in style to a Mexican grill like Chipotle, focusing on fresh ingredients and a customizable menu.

I'm turning to this talented group for inspiration and advice. I'm tasked with creating a cohesive design package including:

  • A clean, modern menu board (for behind the counter)

  • A takeaway menu layout

  • Simple iconography for ingredients (e.g., icons for guacamole, salsa, beans).

My specific questions for you all:

  1. Font Choices: What are your go-to font pairings for food service that convey freshness and approachability without being too casual?

  2. Color Palettes: Beyond the obvious greens and reds, have you worked with any particularly effective color schemes for this niche?

  3. Layout in CorelDRAW: Any tips for creating scalable, easy-to-update menu layouts? This client changes prices and items seasonally.

  4. Inspiration Share: If you've designed similar projects (restaurant menus, branding for food trucks, etc.), I would love to see examples of what you've created in CorelDRAW to understand the possibilities.

I believe real-world project discussions are the best way to learn, and I'm eager to see how others tackle similar design challenges. Thank you in advance for your insights!

Best,
Johan smith
