I am trying to open a PDF file. Not all the lines around the text is in place. Do anyone have the knowledge to know what is wrong? The PDF is showing as expected in Illustrator and Acrobat reader.
PDF
I'm not seeing any difference than what acrobat shows. Only oddity is that the red line is made up of separated line segments which leads me to believe the pdf didn't originate from corel or illustrator. 2020 version
When I open in Corel draw graphics suite 2025 64bit some lines are missing.
How did you open the PDF? What settings did you use?
I don't "open" pdf's, I import them but shouldn't make a difference. In this particular case you can just duplicate the left segments, flip 'em and align to the right but if this is happening to other files that could be troublesome.
It doesnt make a difference if I import them. I often get these kind of files, and don´t want to have to do anything with them. What could be the difference if you see them correctly straight away.
X7 & 2020 version work just fine. Meanwhile maybe someone else that has 2025 could try.
A friend opened it in a very old X3 and got about the same result as me. Could it be a setting problem. What are your standard settings? colorsettings, cmyk and so on. What is the thickness of the red lines? In Illustrator the lines are 0,002mm and in Coreldraw the ones that I see is 0,288mm
Just received a pdf from a customer. Same result as you, acrobat shows a border all around but importing to corel and it only has left and right.
A couple of things tells me it, quite possibly, originated from Adobe Illustrator. The border is an outline/stroke instead of an contour/offset, the white background is made up of two shapes with a fill of grayscale G:255. This color is odd because all the text is cmyk. The "kicker" is that illustrator doesn't allow you to have rgb and cmyk shapes like corel does. When I "open" the pdf in illustrator is see the full border as a stroke that should've been set to "inside" as anything outside the artboard will be cut off which would leave you with a thinner than desired border.I did a save as pdf from illustrator and the imported result gave me the sides and top borders but not the bottom. I changed the stroke to inside, saved as pdf and the import has the full border. The border comes in as a curve instead of an outline. This is what I would call a correct file. Interesting enough, the white background is cmyk with the version I created from illy.Maybe this was an inDesign file? I see it as a failure by the designer either as a mistake or lack of experience. This particular design also should have the company colors which are Pantones but it doesn't. Another fail. It's for this reason most sign shops must have adobe, corel and/or Flexi.
I think my file is made online using iText® Core.It says in the properties in Adobe Acrobat "pdf-production: iText® Core 7.2.6 (AGPL version) ©2000-2024 Apryse Group NVI think the most strange thing is that it looks normal when you open it. Can someone else try to open to see the result please?
