Text centering

Does anyone know if there is a way to center text within a line from top to bottom? I am trying to do the following, "PEOPLE vs PEOPLE" without breaking the text apart I want to center the "vs" top to bottom with "PEOPLE"

You could select specific characters (e.g., "vs") and apply a vertical shift to those characters.

Character properties include horizontal and vertical shift.

Another way is to use the Shape tool. Select the "handles" for those characters, then click and drag to apply horizontal and/or vertical shift.
