Does anyone have problems welding larger items with shapes and text? When I group the items and go to weld, half the design disappears and I get lines shooting all over the place.
Sounds like you may have open paths, or you need to reverse the direction of the nodes
How do I learn to identify open paths or reverse direction of nodes?
look at your design in wireframe, View>Wireframe, red circle for node direction
Instead of grouping and then welding try welding objects 2 at a time you will then see which objects are not working.

Can you share an example? A CorelDRAW file with content that you want to weld, and where you see those kinds of problems?
