Coreldraw 2018. I have created the design in vector with a monochrome bitmap as part of the design. I have a distress texture in monochrome bitmap that I have on top of the design. This is perfect for mockups and showing the customer what it will look like. However it is not what is needed for the screen print operation. I need to remove the distress texture from the design. Any help or walkthrough would be greatly appreciated. Do I have to convert the raster / monochrome bitmap to vector for this or can I use the raster texture? I have used corel for several years but have only used it for vector objects / designs. I am just learning how to use the raster and photo paint portions of this amazing software.
Thanks. That is what I ended up doing but the trace to vector definitely is power hungry and taxing on my pc. I thought back minus front was the way to go but trim defintely seems better. I will give it a go on the next design. I ended up sending the artwork to a screen printer and they were able to finish it for me. I have been doing screen printed transfers lately and the transfer guys cannot work with monochrome bitmaps for some reason. It is one of the main differences I see in a true screen printer and a transfer vendor. Do you know if it would be better to make the design smaller when tracing and trimming or would larger be better? I usually work or design to the size of the finished dimensions. Learning not to use outlines but contours instead because of the issues when resizing things. I am really learning a lot in 2018 and love the program. It has a lot of capabilies. I have mainly just used it to get the end result I want but learning newere faster work flows and tools has expanded my design capabilities immensely. Defintely learning that better design usually means better end product. I was able to do the mock ups without any issues it was creating the vector artwork for the screen printer that was bothering me. Now that I can create 100% vector graphics I think I can use the transfer vendors more for the prints. It sounds like you are familiar with the program and the process very well.
