Does anyone know the history of the CDX file format? It seems CorelDraw cannot write to the format only import, so were they clipart files like the early .CCX files? Looking for samples.
Thanks.
File save as scroll down you'll see two CMX formats supported
I see the CMX, I'm looking for samples of the CDX (CorelDraw Compressed) format.
Not sure if it's supported and I don't know. This is what I found, "CDX files are created with CorelDRAW, a vector editor created and sold by the Canadian Corel Corporation headquartered in Ottawa. The latest version of the program (X6) was released in March 2012 and runs only on Microsoft Windows. The CDX file format is proprietary (there is no CDX file format specification publicly available) and it's used by Corel as the default for archiving images. CDX files contain compressed CDR images and are used for faster file transfer and smaller file sizes. CDR is the default COREL output format and can store simple drawings and vector images. Can also store data used by CorelDraw such as nodes, layers or segments." Posted sometime ago
Ya, I have found that description as well. It is weird for a software title to say it supports a format it created, but only allows import. I checked all the way back to CorelDraw 4, no mention of the format, but CorelDraw 5 has import filter. I assume it is a format for the clipart files released around that time, but never added to CorelDraw as an export filter. Hoping someone has samples from a disk I can compare.
Thanks,
