I want to install a copy of Corel Draw on my new desktop that runs Win10. I have a bought and paid for copy of X3 from when it first came out but it won't install. I have it installed on my Win10 laptop and it runs fine. What are my options without running virtual (Hyper-5)? I might be persuaded to part with a nominal amount for something like X7. Many thanks.
I didn't think CorelDRAW X3 was compatible with Windows 10. Heck, I can remember an update to Windows 8 several years ago forcing me to upgrade the X5 license I was using to X6.
I'm running CD X3 on my laptop Win8 upgrade to Win10 but it won't load onto a new desktop with Win10 already on. A very old Adobe CS2 runs on the new Win10 without any problem. I guess I should just use that. How embarrassing, Corel can't get their software to work on Win10 when Adobe can.
Version X3 was released 14 years ago (2006). No software company is going to offer continuing support for old versions of their software. We all end up having to upgrade at some point. I have old boxes of Adobe's software, including a CS2 Design Premiium box as well as as a CS5.5 Master Collection box. I've never tried loading the software on a Win 10 machine. Nevertheless some of the plug-ins I use with Illustrator, such as those from Astute Graphics, don't work on old versions of Illustratror.
