Hi everyone! I've got an issue with PNGs. When I print a document, the borders of the transparent background still show up as a slightly different color. If the border goes over something like text, they will distort the edges a little bit as well. I'll include a pic below; you can see the edge of the transparent background running down the middle, along the left edge of the text.This only shows up when I print; it's not visible on-screen.I happens with other documents, not just this one. If I export the document as a pdf it's better but it's still visible.I've converted everything to cmyk, which doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'm using CorelDraw 2017, but perhaps this is a non-version-specific problem.Thanks in advance for your advice!
Exporting as a bitmap is a good workaround -- you're right in that it's not ideal for editing but for printing out the final poster it works. Thanks for the tip!All the pngs I've tested do this way, including ones I've removed the background from in Corel Photo-paint as well as pngs from outside clients. I'll play around with more pngs and see if I can find a common thread.

If I print directly from CorelDRAW to my HP DesignJet, it looks fine. There isn't anything there to let one "see the square" of the transparent background in the PNG file.
If I had to deal with that sort of problem, I would probably go with Tryp's suggestion of flattening the content in CorelDRAW before printing.
Problems where "everything's fine, until you actually print" can be very frustrating!
Hmm. Yeah, if I print it on my HP ink jet I don't see the square either. So there's some kind of issue that the laser is picking up on that the inkjet is not. I'm mystified.

For what it's worth, we ran into a similar issue after updating our print RIP software. All our transparent png's/tifs printed with a block around it. We were exporting as pdf to boot. We contacted the software team and they had us roll back to the previous version until they came up with a fix. They have since fixed the issue and we were able to update our RIP Software to the latest version and all is fine.
Just saying it could be a print driver issue. Sometimes they add new bells and whistles and not realize something else gets "jacked up" along with it.
