How to Align Text on a Curved Path for Car Show Posters in CorelDRAW?

Hey CorelDRAW Community!
I’m new here and loving CorelDRAW for creating graphics for my small business. I’m working on a project designing posters for a local car show, and I’m struggling with aligning text and shapes perfectly on a curved path, like around a car silhouette. I’m using CorelDRAW 2023 and tried the Text on Path tool, but the spacing looks uneven, especially with bold fonts.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • Drew a curved path around the car shape using the Pen tool.
  • Added text (Arial Black) and adjusted kerning manually, but it still looks off.
  • Tried converting text to curves, but aligning it precisely is tricky.

Any tips for getting smooth, professional-looking text on a curved path? Are there specific tools or settings in CorelDRAW that make this easier? Also, how do you handle colour gradients for automotive designs to give them a sleek, metallic look? Thanks for any advice – excited to learn from you all!

  • Make sure your text hasn't been stretched or squished in any way. You can use the shape tool to manipulate nodes like move left or right and even rotate if needed.

Instead of using gradients, you might take a look at the Mesh Fill Tool. Select a shape, Grab The Mesh Tool, click on any node then select a color from your swatch, continue with all the nodes. You can then bend and shape the nodes to suit your needs.
