I have been using Corel for more than 17 years; first time I have this problem (running Vista Office, Professional): All brush functions are affected: When I left click to anchor the brush, the cursor jumps diagonally up and the line is drawn from this new position to where the brush is currently. See pic. The cursor was at A when I left clicked the mouse, then jumped to B and simultaneously draw the stroke to A.
I reloaded Corel entirely, but problem persists.
Any help?
I am not seeing this and I have a similar OS and configuration. If you reinstalled and still have the problem, it is likely that your workspace is corrupt. Workspaces are held in your C:\users\Your NAME\ directory and are not uninstalled during the application removal.
Hold down F8 while starting your Corel applicatoin. When prompted, overwrite the workspace with the default workspace and see if your problem has disappeared.
If that doesn't work, look at your orbit settings in your Brush Settings Docker and see they are set to numbers greater than one under Number of Orbits.
Thanks for the quick reply. Tried, but to no avail. First time that I have had this kind of problem. I position the cursor, left click and then it jumps up and to the left. When I begin to drag it atomatically fills the brush stroke to where the cursor was initially positioned and draws the brush stroke.
A few more things to try:
I didn't ask but are you using a mouse or a tablet?
Have you checked for an updated mouse or tablet driver?
Have you tried a different mouse?
If you have a mouse and a tablet, are they both connected at once? If so, try disconnectiing the tablet and see if the behavior persists.
If you have a wireless mouse, double check the distance to transponder is within limits and that your batteries are fresh.
Are any other applications misbehaving? Draw in particular?
Hi Rick, this is one of those absolutely frustrating experiences. Checked all my brush setting vs Corel 9 running on my XP notebook where there is no problem. Settings identical. I use a mouse only and a touchpad on the Vista system. Problem also with touch pad.
Thanks so much for you time!

Hi all,
I got the same problem. Cursor jumps diagonaly to bottom right. And it jumps the same "screen distantion". Means, jump did not depends of zoom, tool etc.
My system: Dell Inspiron 1526, USB mouse (but trackpad does the same), Windows Vista Home edition, X3.
Looks like a problem with Vista drivers...
What are your hardware ?
