I'm having trouble with the Recent File

I have a file that windows claims does not exist. I've tried to delete it but nothing seem to work. However, I found a option on google where as I can follow that instruction to delete the file as administrator...command prompt.

This will not work because the file is only present within the Paint desktop Recent File option.

  • Are you talking about the list that shows up in Photo-Paint when you click on File>Show Recent?

That list is stored in the Registry, and shows a history of files that Photo-Paint has worked with. It is not a "smart" list; Photo-Paint is not checking before displaying the list to see if those files actually exist.

In that screenshot, "Foo 2.png" no longer exists, because I deleted the file. However, it is still on the list.
