I have a fairly new Windows 10 laptop. I couldn't use my old version of the Corel Graphics Suite (X3), so I purchased the new Graphics Suite 2017 upgrade. It worked fine for a few days. Then all of a sudden, every time I tried to save a graphic as a .jpg, the program started crashing. I have tried doing a lot of research on this, and have seen claims that Windows .NET Frame 4.7 is the problem, but because of the the newness of this laptop, I cannot remove the 4.7 version to put on the 4.6 version that apparently worked. Today I applied a Corel update to my program, and the Photo Paint version is 19.1.0.419. I was hoping that would solve the problem, but it didn't. I can save an image as other things (.cpt, .bmp, etc), but I really need to be able to do .jpg. Does Corel have a solution for this? I really hate that I paid A LOT of money for a new version of this program that I can't even use. Please help.
Hi, I presume your issue have been resolved? I haven't had any issue exporting to jpeg in Photo-paint. I doubt it have anything with using the latest. Net framework. It is probably something else at hand. It would be interesting to see if your issue is solved.
Thanks for asking, Stefan, but no -- it has not been resolved yet. As I mentioned, I can save as other extensions, just not JPG. Sometimes I want to edit a photo to post on Facebook, and I just can't save it. As far as I've been able to determine, FB only accepts JPGs (I've tried others, but they haven't worked). Every time I go into PhotoPaint, I try again, but it just crashes the program every time. If I really need something, I have to go back to my old laptop and old version of PhotoPaint to make a JPG. I can't be the only person this is happening to. I even tried installing the whole suite again, but nothing changed. You're the first person who has actually responded. One person asked if I had tried using Export, and the answer is Yes. It just doesn't work; the program just stops working, and I usually have to go to the Task Manager to actually shut it down. If you have any insight, it would be very appreciated.
I hate even suggesting this, but have you tried an F8 start to see if resetting PP will make it work? Or possibly doing a repair of the install (control panel > programs > uninstall, then choose the repair option)?
I did the reinstall/repair option. No help.
If you have registered this product, then you have a certain time (I don't know exactly how long, I'm participating on the Upgrade-Program, there I have this all the time) the possibility to create a ticked under Help / Support / Corel Support Service. Then you will get support by Corel experts.Check, if this is possible for you!
