I have a fairly new Windows 10 laptop. I couldn't use my old version of the Corel Graphics Suite (X3), so I purchased the new Graphics Suite 2017 upgrade. It worked fine for a few days. Then all of a sudden, every time I tried to save a graphic as a .jpg, the program started crashing. I have tried doing a lot of research on this, and have seen claims that Windows .NET Frame 4.7 is the problem, but because of the the newness of this laptop, I cannot remove the 4.7 version to put on the 4.6 version that apparently worked. Today I applied a Corel update to my program, and the Photo Paint version is 19.1.0.419. I was hoping that would solve the problem, but it didn't. I can save an image as other things (.cpt, .bmp, etc), but I really need to be able to do .jpg. Does Corel have a solution for this? I really hate that I paid A LOT of money for a new version of this program that I can't even use. Please help.
If you have registered this product, then you have a certain time (I don't know exactly how long, I'm participating on the Upgrade-Program, there I have this all the time) the possibility to create a ticked under Help / Support / Corel Support Service. Then you will get support by Corel experts.Check, if this is possible for you!
Hi,
I am having exactly the same problem. Was working up to this morning then suddenly program is crashing every time i want to save JPG.
Uninstalled, repaired nothing work.
When trying to save, the usual screen where you can select the JPG resolution is blank and no picture appears on screen. Then mouse is going slow motion and the program close by itself. Can save as .tiff, bmp but sometimes crashes with PNG.
Help please lots of work to do and i'm completely stuck at the moment....
Did you managed to make it work Babsy ?
Hi. I have had a fair amount of crashing problems with this program since I started using it. But I have also had a lot of trouble with my HP laptop which I have had to start over from scratch three times in a year. I don't know if it's Windows 10, the HP, or the programs. Regardless, the last time I started over from scratch and reloaded Corel for the third time, I could save .JPGs again. I have no idea what was the problem before. I will say, however, that when I was having that problem before, I could easily save as a .PNG or other format -- just not JPG. Since then, I have discovered that PNGs are better for me. If there is an amount of white space in the background, JPGs add a lot of "noise" (little speckles of light gray) to the background. Saving as a PNG gives you a clean background. Wish I could help more, but this is what has been my experience.
Great to have you coming back so quickly Babsy!
I've got a nearly brand new laptop also with windows 10 and i'm pretty confident the spec are more than enough to run the program smoothly.
Uninstalled twice already, cleared the work space with f8 key tried everything but still doesn't work and crash every..single...time which is very frustrating when you have a lot of work in the pipeline.
I also started saving PNG but also got crashes once every 2/3 images which is unacceptable. Raised a ticket hope Corel will be able to help, i'll let you know.
Thanks again Babsy
Can you please explain a little more detailed, what you are doing exactly? What item do you want to save as Jpg? Do you open a picture in PhotoPaint or do you create something in a new PoPa-File and save it then as Jpg? If you open something: What kind of image is it? Already a Jpg you only want to modify or a different image type you want to convert?Maybe the reason for your problem is, that you are adding something to your image where the conversation to a Jpg causes trouble. Does your PhotoPaint project has different objects like a text on it? If yes: Ever tried a different font? You complaint the bad quality (noise) of the Jpg: When saving as a Jpg you have some parameters you can modify: If the 'Quality' is close to 100% you will get also a very high image quality with a pretty smooth background. But this requires, that the raw image must not be in a bad quality (If your input is a Jpg with 60% quality, saving it with 99% will only increase the file size but not the quality)I just converted a 99% Jpg with 8000x6000 Pixel with PoPa2017 into a Jpg with only 0% and even this worked.
