Hi,
I recently got a set of high res PNG textures. I am trying to open them in PhotoPaint, change the color from black to other colors, and then save them again to use in CorelDRAW X7. My problem is that the images are huge and top quality on my computer when I import them but when I save them they save as a tenth of the original size, murdering the quality. Is there any way to fix this issue?
Can you share an example of the "before" and "after" of one of these files?
Here is a link to view them https://imgur.com/a/0sgYPer
The "After" picture there is a .JPEG file, not a .PNG.
The lossy compression (with whatever settings you used) may be hurting you there.
Have you tried saving or exporting from Photo-Paint as .PNG?
I just looked in my files, and they are definitely both labeled as PNG files. I have highlighted them in the screenshot below
I also just checked the link and pressed "save picture as..." on the green image and it saved it as a PNG so I'm not sure where you saw that it was a JPEG

Sorry, I mixed up "before" and "after".
What I see at your Imgur link:
I think it is doing that because of the size of the PNG, but I think you can see the difference in quality there regardless. Also, you can see the size changed from 19k KB to 4k KB when I saved it
I'm not doubting that your exported file size was smaller, or that you suffered some loss of quality.
If I can't see the actual before and after files, though, I'm not going to guess at WHY either of those happened.
