I am receiving an "Unrecoverable Error" when attempting to import an AutoCAD dxf into CorelDRAW. This is my first attempt at this action with the new CorelDRAW software.
Is there a procedure or way to correct this?
I am able to import a pdf of the same AutoCAD file but the objects do not seem to respond in CorelDRAW as I was used to with the dxf files in the past. When I experienced this I greatly simplified the file to be imported, a simple rectangle, in an effort to make it work.
The current software is CorelDRAW 2017 and AutoCAD LT 2018 running on a Windows 10 machine, both software packages have been upgraded within the past 6 months.
I had performed the same action using previous versions of the software, AutoCAD LT 2012 and CorelDRAW Graphic Suite12, on the same computer .
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Same here, including saving as an older version of DXF.
Did you find a solution? I'm also encountering this.
You could use the ODA file converter to convert your DXF file into an older DXF/DWG version that your version of CorelDRAW can open.

Autodesk has a similar program called DWG TrueView whichs is a viewer that can also save/convert to older dwg/dxf file formats. The ODA file converter is quite a bit smaller download though, so I'd try that first.
I spent some time figuring this out:
Using AutoCAD 2019 and Corel Draw X8:
-Then import the PDF into Corel
Now I can design in AutoCAD and print to my laser using Corel!
Also, thanks to Corel user ArtV for the suggestion about conversion programs.
Thank you for your suggestion and prompt reply!
