If you are using and AMD RX series or new card (this could affect older models) there is a driver bug that causes severe Corel Draw 2017 performance issues. I was running AMD Adrenaline 17.12.2 and I tried the latest version 18.1.1 and both rendered Corel Draw 2017 useless. I uninstalled both driver versions and reverted back to the Microsoft update service driver version 17.50.15.01-180112a1-322990. Corel Draw 2017 now opens, edits converts files perfectly fine again.

HOORAY it WORKS! Both Corel X8 and Corel 2017 in my tests using AMD RX Vega 64. Both now only take approximately 4 seconds to load a drawing and approximately 4 to 7 seconds to copy to clipboard (down from 30 to 40 seconds - sometimes more, never less) on my machine.
AMD says it explicitly fixed the slow Corel issue with its latest driver -- Adrenalin Edition 18.7.1 Optional. This BETA driver was released today -- July 12, 2018.
This driver should work on RX series cards of the last ~3 years and some higher end cards back to the HD7800 (and up) series. It will not work for all AMD products. Of course, I have not tested all those.

I updated the AMD drivers to 18.7.1 today. All seems to be well now.
Both Corel and Wilcom (Embroidery software) working well... read quick response to open program, copy/paste, print etc.
