I have a Designjet 500 42 inch wide format printer, which came out around 2003. The printer driver available on the HP site is updated for Windows 10 compatibility. And guess what? Every program I have will print to it except for Corel Draw or Photo-Paint. I also have PaintShop Pro 2018, and it prints to it fine. My workaround is to print to PDF from Corel Draw, then open the file in MS Publisher to print to my production printer, the Designjet 500. A real PIA.
Has anyone else had this issue? I have a trouble ticket in for Corel Support for the past few days, but so far no joy.
I have the Windows 10 Creator's update, by the way, and a Dell laptop with Core i7, 16GB memory, 500GB Samsung EVO 860 SSD.
Just for emphasis, every other program but the CDR suite will print to it, including Corel's other products. Everything. Every program and driver I have on this PC is the latest version as of today.
I just picked up a Designjet 500 and have exactly the same problem. Printing to it from CDR causes an errorless crash (CDR just disappears). Any progress since this post was made?
Maybe just something short and sweet?
Search for HP DesignJet 500 PCL Driver (v8.10)
I hope this helps.
Your (now deleted, thanks Corel...) response was super helpful. My designjet is working correctly after uninstalling the driver and installing the HP DesignJet 500 PCL Driver (v8.10).
I hope this response makes it.
Thanks so very much.
They called my answer spam...
But, I'm glad to see that it helped you before it was deleted. I appreciate the response.
I'm glad to see a solution posted, because I hate to see equipment become useless because of that sort of problem.
I got a lot of use out of a DesignJet 500 PS, and finally "retired" it when the baby software RIP could no longer handle some of our content.
Mechanically, it was still working great. I hope it found a good home.
Moved on to a DesignJet T1200, which has been great, but has outlived HP's support for parts.
