I bought an EPS vector image from iStockPhoto. I imported the image into my current copy of Corel Draw 11 perfectly! I was impressed.
Then I decided to try out a trial copy Corel Draw X4, since my 11 is old and I wanted a few new features of X4, and I wanted to try X4 first before upgrading for $200.
When I tried to open and Import the same EPS image into X4 (as editable EPS) - the image does Import/Open, but some of the Objects to not render properly and "breaks" the image.
Has anyone else had an issue like this with oimages they by from iStockPhoto or other photo/image source companies?
Hi there - was this problem ever solved?
I have a CorelDraw X4, but do my design in Illustrator.
My one sign printed can only open and work with Corel. However, when I open my latest designed EPS in Corel, a lot of detail is lost - some places where the lines of the drawing overlap, the colour disappears - and it goes transparent. Any tips on how I can solve this - on a very tight deadline, and have not had this complications before...
A lot of EPS files that CorelDRAW X4 can't open works fine under X5 and newest. Using a newest Adobe software with a more than 10 years old CorelDRAW version was not a good deal.
On the other side, EPS is an old file format, even for Adobe. The best solution is to save as PDF.(specially PDF X/4 for avoid compatibility issues). PDF has all the features of EPS plus more advantadges, such as to see the preview with Acrobat.
Hallo Ariel - that worked just fine! Saved it as PDF X/4 and it could open. Thanks so so much! Saved me a lot of trouble and money - and all features are as per design.
