I want to get a stack of fonts. I'm looking at this one here http://www.ultimatefontdownload.com/
it is 10,000 fonts, for about 20 bucks. Anyone use this or can reccomend any others?

Many years ago, I obtain about 7,000 fonts from one source. They were all offered for free. As time progressed, I have weeded out most of those fonts as being totally useless, due to the font, itself, Imean, who wants a font where every letter is made to look like it is wet paint, dripping down, with long streamers, and a second version of the same font, hallowed out, and the third version with longer strings of drips, etc. (That would be a one time use font, that I would spend many days, just looking for the right customer to use that font for their logo/sign design.)
In other words, they are free, usually for a good reason, they are incomplete, or too specialized or simply unwanted.
Now days, if I need a font, I will search for that particular font and obtain it, whether or not it has to be purchased or is public domain or freeware. I do not need to clutter up my system(s) with tons of stuff that I do not use.
My advise to you, would be to start with all the fonts that came with Windows and Corel Graphics Suite(s) and add to those, as you need. Simple search the web for a font, by font name or by font type and/or use such services as What The Font....and keep the garbage down.
When it comes to starting a new design, it can be a pain in the posterior to search through thousands of useless fonts installed on your system, to find the right font for the job.
My 2 cent rant.
I would like to add that, regardless of fonts available on Corel Suite, a good investment is to buy, of course when such a need exist, font family that has wide range of variations. Some of fantastic fonts you will never be able to find for free, even their wild versions (similar fonts). Surely that you can always use some other font but, for good work you need good tool and, without doubt, that they will pay for themselves in time.
I bought that 10,000 fonts package for the 20bucks. Yes it was worth it.
I noticed that it has slowed down the computer though. I added say about 100 fonts and now when I move the mouse pointer over the font box at the top, it takes about2-3 seconds for it to open up and be able to scroll through all the fonts.
The best way to handle this, is to remove those 100 fonts, that you added, and then put all the fonts, that you bought and want, into a different directory, not the Windows/Fonts directory. Then fire up Bitstream Font Navigator and have it scan for fonts. From this point on, use BFN to activate/deactivate any fonts that you want to use.
The more fonts that you have active, under Windows, the more Windows resources are used up. This is noticeably so, after you get above a few hundred (for Win 7, I think you start noticing it around 800 fonts, with WinXP, it could be as few as 400 fonts, total, including fonts included with Windows.).
Hugh is right. Windows font library has its limitations and can slow down comp a lot. You can't use all the fonts all the time. As Hugh said, activate font you wish to use and, after you're done, deactivate it... It is just click away and everything will work just fine
There is lots of programs that can manipulate fonts. Google a little and find out what suits you (I use Suitcase Fusion 3 and have sorted fonts by type)
