HOW TO REMOVE WHITE NODE BOXES AROUND TEXT?

It's the most annoying thing! How to remove these pesky white Node boxes around text when it text editing mode, even the black nodes have a white border! Whats with that? How do I get rid of them please!?

    The white nodes are for individual positioning of letters. They also show the demarcation of the glyph. The white outline around the black position nodes are for contrast, I wouldn't want rid of them. How are they interfering? If you want rid of them say for a screen shot, you can unelect them.

    I'd have to agree with David. They are needed. You can grab them with the node tool and move them around or just "nudge" them for better spacing between characters
