I have been using CorelDRAW X4 during some years. But only first time I saw Error reading a Corel3.cdr file. I've no idea what to undertake. I cannot continue my work in editor. I only wait someone or something that could aid me to solve it.
maybe it was an error on save... can you share the file for test it? or send me privately if you want
If it is a Corel 3 (not Corel X3) file then there is a good chance that X4 cannot read the file.Another option is that there are objects in the file that got corrupted or are not properly recognized by Corel (e.g. because the file contains elements imported from another file). Is this a file you received from someone else or a file you created yourself in the past?
Try importing it
Try the following to repair corel draw file or you may learn some sources in the following

- rename the file to ".zip "
- open the zip-file with Winzip or WinRar (these programs has a repair-function for zip)
- try to repair the file
- then extract the riffdata.cdr from content-folder of zip-file and open this file in CorelDRAW
These steps work for me.
