Asked just for fun. I think drawing/painting and music belong together.
Here is my list:
for quick and expressive drawings I listen to alternative rock like Blind Age(unknown to the most of you, friends to me), Linkin' Park, 3Doors Down, Alter Bridge, and many more.
for very freaky ideas I listen to Dream Theatre(though I can't stand that only for 1-2 hours...)
for moody titles and chilley works I listen to recreative Ambient&Trance Techno like XERXES, Martin O'Donnel(Soundtrack from HALO2) and several else.
Now let me know yours...

Being an Indian, I don't listen to any of the music discussed here. But I am an Indian oldie and love to hear Kishore Kumar, one of the Indian master singers. And especially I love to listen his emotional solos he sung in 60's, 70's
GREAT ARTISTE, unfortunately no more with us.

Hi, Anand, I was search about Kishore Kumar and I download a song (neelay neelay amber pe). Sounds fabulous! I don't undestand one word but the music sounds genial. My daughter (seven years old) to dance with their music and asked me: more music like that. So I download to another, (chand mera dil, from kishore kumar, mohd rafi & asha bhosl ). In a part of this song, sounds like ABBA. So many great artists we are losing because of lack of information! Can you tell me more similar music to listen? or do you recommend me a song?
thanks for share this wonderful artist with us

The meaning would be interessting for me too, although the music speaks a clear message. I don't dare to ask you for a rough translation of "neelay neelay amber pe". What does the title mean? To know that is enought to listen and to understand, I think.

When moon rises on the blue sky (i.e. evening time) one needs a friend or a lover who understands you and with whom one can share a life

Thank you very much, Anand for this HUGDE list of links. I've started listen, but my girlfriend caught me dancing to the music, and she declared me for sick... LOL Doesn't matter...
Here I have a link to one of my brasilian favorites: http://www.portalcapoeira.com/Radio-Capoeira
I listen to Radio Paradise, good station for alternative folk and rock with no commercials. When I get tired of lyrics, (words) I listen to SOMA FM out of San Francisco. At SOMA I listen to Groove Salad. Mostly instrumental heavy on percussion and experimental music in the St Germain vein. SOMA FM has about 6 catagories of music stations from jazz in the Kieth Jarret and Phillip Glass vein, house, and space music to indie and secret agent type music from the 60's. All free with no commercials. They just ask for donations now and then.
