Can anyone help instruct me how to convert text to outlines within Corel? Is it the same as converting to curves? Thanks!
Yes it is. The term, "convert to outlines" comes from the Adobe users world, whereas "converting to curves" is from the Corel DRAW world. Both mean exaclty the same thing.
To do so, select the text, right click on it and click on "Convert to Curves", or
Select the text and press Ctrl+Q.
Thank you so much!
I've some text with thick outline in Corel X6. I want to convert the outline to object (it could be better if the text could remain as text). Is it possible?
In X6 you can convert outlines to object near the bottom of the arrange menu.
If you have text with fill and an outline and you convert the outline to object, you now have two objects -- the fill remains as editable text. But that's probably not very useful, because if you edit the text, the outline no longer corresponds to the text. You would need to delete the outline and recreate it.
More useful, probably, would be to keep the outline as an object and when you have finished editing, create a PDF from it, setting export all text as curves in the objects tab of the PDF settings. That way, your CDR file keeps the text fully editable even after you have made the PDF.
