I recently upgraded from Coreldraw 12 to X4. I have an old document created in CD12 that I've copied some diagrams into a new document in X4. But at the centre of each diagram I'm seeing an annoying system message that says "Click here with text tool to add paragraph text." I've looked at it with wireframe and I don't see anything that suggests it wants paragraph text. The message is not text or an object; that is, I can't select it. I never saw this in CD12. How can I get rid of this message? It's really annoying. Thanks.
What happens if you follow the message and actually "click here"? Can you add text?
If you can, handles should appear which bound the object in question. Also, the Cursor will move to the Upper Left corner of whatever paragraph text frame or object has been text-enabled. That should help you narrow it down.
Hi Rikk,
Thanks for your suggestion. That is so weird! It seems to have taken a curve object I had created in the old document and interpreted it as "paragraph text inside a path." When I click on the object(s), I can "break apart" and then select just the "paragraph text" box and delete it, leaving just the curve object.
The object is a diagram that I use in different ways, so I've always copied one diagram and altered it. The basic shape is a circle, and I think way back when I first created the base diagram, I had put some characters from a symbol font around the inside of the circle to space them evenly inside the circle. I still include the symbols and I guess it kept them in that format with each copy and I just forgot about it. That explains why the file takes so long to load when it gets to be 2 or 3 pages of these things!
Mystery solved. Thanks very much for the help!
it will be resolved if we un check the paragraph text frame
text>paragraph text frame > show text frame = uncheck it. it will be resolved
