I've been using CorelDraw since the early 90's. I don't use many features, X4 or even earlier versions do what I need. Windows 10 says CorelDraw X4 it is incompatible. I have a modest number of .cdr files that I would really like to use. What are the alternatives short of the latest (expensive) version?
I attempted to install X4 in my Windows 10 partition and Windows said it would damage my computer, wow that's not nice.I did install CorelDraw8 (circa 1997) but it wouldn't run.
Hi Cal,
You can buy recent versions (2018 or so) on ebay for about $10.SAGE (free) or MYSTIC THUMBS ($50) will produce thumbnails. IRFANVuE may convert .cdr to a later version,Phil
If one upgrades from CorelDraw X4 to CDX8, will X8 not recognize the old cdr files?
Are there problems for CorelDraw X8 to expect with Corel X3 files...? (under Windows 10)
(I'm looking for a version of Corel Draw to run under Windows 10)
Any version starting with CorelDraw 18 and later should work. you might be able to get a cheap boxed version form a reputable store.
thanks, do you mean any version starting with X8?
Maybelline, Ariel has mentioned that any version starting with version 17 should work on Windows 10. There is a hack to get version 14 working but it is not for the feint hearted. You might also wish to check out the latest "essentials" version or a "student and home" version (non commercial). You can download a free trial to see what will suit your needs.
