X4 on Windows 10pro--so far...with a little help from YouTube to create a new command bar...everything seems to be working. Except when I click on "New from Template" in the Quick Start menu. When I do that, nothing happens.
I can still open my templates through the File menu. But until Win 10, going through the Quick Start menu, I would get another window that gave me a preview of my various templates. Now...nothing.
Has any other diehard CorelDraw X4 user experienced this? And or found a 'fix'?
A similar question was asked here eleven years ago (although probably not with regard to Win10) and got no response or answer...Kind of discouraging, that.
But I am so impress that someone came up with the command bar workaround--simple, easy to implement and brilliant!--and I am hopeful that someone has figured an answer for this problem as well.
This works for me with X7.
Sub NewFromTemplate()
Const sFolderPath As String = "C:\Users\Myron\Documents\Corel\Corel Content\Templates\" 'Set your folder here Dim sFileName As String sFileName = CorelScriptTools.GetFileBox("CorelDRAW Files (*.cdt)|*.cdt", "Select a file", 0, sFolderPath) If sFileName = "" Then Exit Sub End If OpenDocument sFileName End Sub
Thanks you for taking the ime...
Where is this? I'm not a coder or even a CorelDraw Expert...I don't know where to find the strings you posted or exactly how, or in what sequence, to go about achieving your results,
And FWIW, despite having notifications enables I don't get 'em. Or maybe it's just no one is answering...? [shrug]

Do you have a "New From Template" in your File menu? If so, does it launch the "New From Template" dialog to visually browse your templates?
I wrote something similar a while back, to get around the fact that the New From Template dialog in 2019 doesn't - as far as I can tell - provide a way to directly navigate to a folder and select a .CDT or .CDR file to use as a template.
#10: Macro - "New from Template Browse".
For users who are new to using .GMS files, there is this:
#1: Getting started with using VBA macros (What do you do with a .GMS file?).
