Hi all,
I'm having trouble when preparing file for printing and by that converting all text to curves. In some cases my work is so slow!
First thing to make shortcut for selecting text objects, prior to converting to curves, a bit easier than ALT-E+A+T in sequence (Edit - Select All - Text). You can not press them all at once because you'll end up hitting Arrange or something else.
Second thing, after you've done your converting or you think you did them all, there's always a couple left that you didn't cover. Some grouped text objects, some in PowerClip...When you go and check Document Properties you can still see fonts unconverted. So why there is no option for Corel to mark or flag these pages and objects for faster locating and dealing with them in much faster fashion?I think this could be very helpful when you dealing with multipage files.
Your opinions are welcome. I'm using X5 so I don't know if this is solved in newer versions.
Regards
Sometimes it can be a reasoning behind convert text to curves. No need to question the reason per se. For a cover or poster file it wouldn't take up too much space or bE too complex. After all its just a vector But for a long document it's better if it is okey to embed fonts in the PDF file for print.
I have had numerous situations when I wasn't allowed to embed and send to print - don't ask why. So the solution was convert to curves.
Another situation when I made a book cover, I convert to curves, so a middle men compiling an interior for a book publisher, couldn't change the design of my cover. She simply tried to make the changes, and I had been the guy to be blamed by our client. Solution? Convert to curves. And no embedded fonts. :-)
