I installed CorelDraw X5 on a brand new Win7 and cannot launch it. Immediately this error message appears:
Unable to load CorelDrw.dll. Error Code:14003
There we thought we`d try X5 and possibly upgrade and then I ended up loosing several hours by trying to fix it. I`m very angry and disappointed right now since we had such instability problems in the past with Corel. The only worse experience was Illustrator in 2001.
Of course I tried uninstalling and re-installing but other than messing up a fresh Win7 no success.
I hope for a quick and simple solution otherwise I can`t see us staying with Corel much longer since we are already using Adobe stuff and Illustrator is kind of free.
Hell Steffi; It sounds like the problem is not with Corel, you could try turning the fire wall for one thing and see if it will install then. And if you are having problems with Corel you will probley have the same thing with Adobe. If you are trying to load the demo ver. of X5 you can go to the Corel.com on the menu at the top of the page and get some help, they can screen share with you to get it installed. Adobe products aren't cheap.......
My Thoughts George
It did install just fine! It just doesn`t start once it is installed. It is a brand new Win7 machine with only a few Adobe products installed and the Windows firewall is turned off. Everything else runs just fine, but Corel won`t even start. That`s why I`m so surprised.
The problem could be somewhere with file versions and the way too many runtimes that Corel installs or doesn`t install. Looks like a VC++ error or something the like. Adobe installed the 2008 runtimes, therefore I can`t just deinstall them.
Try putting the DVD in and doing a "Repair"
