Happy New Year people.Have spent a while searching, trying to work out how to attach photos to post in a coherent manner, sorry no joy.
I scanned the drawing at 300 dpi and saved as a bmg, then imported, centerline traced, line drawing, and saved as an svg file. Then tried to use the Smart fill tool to change outline, lines colour to a light green.Nothing happens. Can't upload the svg or cdr version. The drawing is part of a woodcarving project I want to practice carving. Drawing is copied on to the wood using carbon paper. As the outline is black if go over with a black pen can't follow where I've traced, same with any other colour of pen. If I change outline to a line to a light green, then can see where I've been coping the drawing.Thanks.
Smart Fill only works with closed curves.
Although, if you have a closed curve, then you can change fill and outlines without Smart Fill at all
OK thanks for that. I am a little familiar with using the bezier tool, creating object, locking object, ungrouping object, smooth, cusp nodes. Is that the route your going down or are you using a different process?
For what I want at this point in time.... was to be able to create a SVG image that I can alter to the required dimensions. I haven't tried printing out the ones I've done so far. Though that said I attach an SVG I've done, the lines are a little broken up.That said if I have a play with the PowerTrace parameters I should get the results I'm looking for???
Just before I started to reply I had a thought, a white or yellow fineliner would save me going through quite a long winded process of changing the outline colour. I had a quick Google and found this so
far, https://www.easichalk.com/posca-white-07mm-extra-fine-marker-pen-1024-p.asp?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg-jszPzP3wIVRJnVCh3qzg2GEAQYAiABEgJI__D_BwE
I should be able to alter the line properties in PowerTrace settings to match the point size of the pen I buy.
Thanks again.
