I've just loaded Corel Website Creator to a second pc -- a dell laptop. In page view, the Properties boxes are dithered -- see the screen cap below:

I don't see this anywhere else in the program or any other programs. All other screens in Corel WSC look find. Can't find any 'options' setup that seem to control this.
Any advise?

I reckon it is probably asking for a font that is not installed, or is a "fixed size" font that is only available in another size and is being very badly simulated.
I'm not sure how you would tell which font it was though, except by comparing the fonts on the two machines.
It is possibly one of the standard windows fonts, which programs tend to assume are available on all systems. But annoyingly, windows doesn't provide a quick "reinstall base fonts" option.
That's a good idea, Harry, and may be the answer. But I don't know how to solve it. I just transferred all the fonts from the pc on which WSC is working okay, to the laptop (just the ones the laptop doesn't already have) -- the dithering is still there. You'd think that whatever fonts are required by WSC for its working screens, would be supplied with the program? Thanks for the suggestion.... Regards, Steve

did you install them all, or just move them? (Not being an ass, there is a difference)
Second, you should be looking not for a corel font but for one that came with windows. Do you have a restore disk for your laptop? find the fonts on it and make sure they are all installed. Alternately you could find a list online of fonts needed to run your version of windows and double check your fonts.

Can't always do this. They rely on the windows fonts for somethings, and redistributing those would add extra licensing fees.

There is a font cache, usually C:\Windows\System32\FNTCACHE.DAT, which can sometimes become corrupted.
Fixing it requires the file to be deleted and the system rebooted. A new one is then built from the currently installed fonts.
A second thing to check is that you do not have the same font installed in more than one version. Having a truetype (TTF) and a type1 (PFM+PFB) font of the same name will cause problems in some programs. I'm not sure about opentype but having the same font more than once is pointless anyway and best avoided.
I searched my entire c drive and can't find a file named FNTCACHE.DAT, in any sub-directories? I'm running Windows 7? Tks, Steve
I just checked a Windows 7 Professional system here. Its there in C:\Windows\System32\FNTCACHE.DAT and not marked as a hidden file. It is also found by putting FNTCACHE.DAT in the search box.
However, judging by http://www.blackviper.com/windows-services/windows-font-cache-service/ it seems to be associated with a service that has a start type of "manual" with the note:
Supposedly, no windows program needs the service to function. There also seem to be two of them -- Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 and 4.0.0.0. You could check (in Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools) that they are not marked as disabled.

Another trick I've seen suggested for clearing the font cache: In Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display temporarily change the font size (eg to 125%), reboot and change it back to what it was.
