When I group a few objects together, and apply drop shadow to the group, I cannot edit the individual object in the group (cannot pick it to move it or resize it etc) without removing the drop shadow.
John,
Can't seem to make it work the way you described it.
Even with the Ctrl key held down and a 2nd click.... I get the rotation markings instead of being able to select each individual objects.

Hi Pratik,
Thanks for your answer.
Although that seems to be the correct way it should work, but I always end up selecting the whole drop shadow group instead of the individual object, though once a while I can select the object as intended.
From a random test, out of 10 times I tried, it selects the drop shadows group 6 times, selects the object 4 times.
In Juan's example, I could not select the yellow pentagon. Always end up with the red circle or whole drop shadow group.

HI.
Weird.
I didn't use Shift or Alt.
I only held control and clicked the shapes. On alternate clciks it would select inner item.
Maybe a setting in your options such as the ability to select unfilled shapes?
Did you try the macro.? It works like this....

There is a workaround that I use in such case:
Select "Shape Tool" (F10) and with Ctrl key select objects that are in the group with drop shadow.
The Shape Tool + Ctrl key can also be used to select objects under many subgroups with just one click (instead of Ctrl + click for each sub group).
