After happily scanning a few images I now get this message when hitting the scan button:
---------------------------Corel PHOTO-PAINT X5---------------------------The application could not inquire about the palette of the image from the Twain driver. Image acquiring aborted.---------------------------OK ---------------------------
I have a feeling it may be something like the temp files needing to be deleted, but I'm not sure where. Any suggestions?
Hello emtx; To find your temp files go to the Windows "Start Menu" and in the "Search" box type in %temp% and Windows will find them for you, delete all the ".temp" files you have there. ( Windows will not let you delete any that are in use. You can also save your work and close Corel and reopen it and that will let you scan again until you use up your resources again.
My Thoughts George
Yeah I already tried deleting from the windows temp folder, and I've closed and shutdown the the computer and it still gives the same message...
I have a couple of different scanners along with their drivers, installed on one machine. I found that same error, with one of the scanners, earlier this year. I have updated the drivers for that scanner and I have not seen this error, again. (This was on a Kodak scanner, while the Canon scanner worked fine.)
If you can not find a more up to date scanner driver from the manufacturer, try using an older version of the scanner driver.
Also try resetting the computer.

Go to temp files in your Windows user profile (Windows Key + R, then type in %temp%). In temp files, look for file names like Twain001.Mtx and TWAIN.LOG. If these file exist, delete them and you are fine.
