CorelDRAW X5 suddenly does not launch. I click to launch it, but when the splash screen comes up, it stays stuck on "Loading User Settings". Doesn't go further than that.
How can I fix this?
Hello JessieK; Have you tried the old "F8" trick or putting the DVD in and doing a "Repair" at the install prompt?
My Thoughts George
Already tried the F8 thing. Didn't work. Repair from the disc didn't work either. I did a complete uninstall, also using an uninstall program that scans for any leftover files of corel and deletes them. So, I completely wiped Corel out of the system, installed it again... AND I STILL GET THE SAME PROBLEM. It hangs on "Loading User Settings".
This is the second computer to encounter this problem. The other computer I had to wipe out Windows and reinstall it. I just CAN'T do that again. I shouldn't HAVE to. Any ideas on what is causing this problem and how to fix it??? I have 10 computers with Corel X5 installed and I can't have this keep happening without a way to fix it that doesn't mean going back to square one.
Did you download and install the service packs to see if it remedies the problem?
Hi,
Have you defrag your harddisk?
You can try creating a new user with administrative rights and install DRAW using that account.
