When I have multiple files open in Corel Draw X7, if I use, for example Text tool in one window, then I exit the Text tool (by selecting Pick tool), if switch to an other window and back, the Text tool automatically gets selected.
This isn't a big problem until it literally causes a crash: I was working with Transparency tool on something small. Then I was working on some other things and I selected a large group of objects. Then I switched between windows and when I came back to the file it says something like "too many objects selected", and no wonder, it crashed right after ... Apparently, when I came back to the window of the file, it automatically selected Transparency tool and tried to make many objects transparent (which I never do for obvious reasons), even though I never wanted it to do it. This is so frustrating.
With this example, it became clear that this is a serious problem (not just annoying). Is there a way to prevent it?
This is probably similar issue as when switching between windows, a non changed file has an option to save it, even though there are no changes.
X7 but posted in X5? Anyway, I'm not seeing this behavior in X7 and switch tabs/windows. Draw a circle in one doc immediately start a new doc and draw a square, switch back to the previous tab and Rectangle Tool is still selected.
Oh sorry about that, I have overlooked it. Is there a way to move the thread to X7 section?
--------
I have checked now, it doesn't happen always, maybe only when a file is large. And the issue is that if I leave the file with Pick Tool selected, when I return it selects the other, previously used tool, not the other way around. It would be just fine if it would select Pick Tool automatically, since it can't do any harm. The problem is when it selects a tool like Transparency, which can crash the program if used on too many objects at once.
EDIT:
I have just tested it again, and here is how you can reproduce the issue:
Open two new documents. Draw a rectangle on one document and then select Pick Tool. Then switch to the other document and exit it. When it returns to the window of the first document, the Rectangle tool is selected even though it was left with Pick Tool selected.
But I think it does happen sometimes even when just switching between windows, I just don't know in what circumstances.
Thanks for answering and again sorry for wrong forum section.
