Hi,I'm pretty much a newbie to Corel Draw . I've downloaded A4 size printable letters in A4, see attached. I want to make a sign up, printing out still using A4 size paper but using much smaller letters. How can I go about doing this? Thanks
Not following.
Yes like that, resizing the letter to the size I'd like. Then placing it where I would like in A4 sheet. Missed your reply, was in spam folder.
select the text with the pick tool then grab any corner and push/pull as needed
OK thanks Myron I'll try and have a go at this Tuesday/Wednesday. I'll let you know, how I got on. If thats OK with you? I'll read up on working with text. I was a bit reluctant to do that to start with, as quite a steep learning curve with CorelDraw. Felt quite daunted.
Peter.
Your original post shows a screenshot from Acrobat, so I assume that these "letters" you have downloaded are PDF files. Is that correct?
Hi Eskimo, yes, there are PDF files.

Is there a reason that you are not creating text directly in CorelDRAW?
No, not really I thought as I already had the letters to start with. Would be easy to use them, as a sort of template in CorelDraw. I was thinking would be easier and quicker than using CorelDraw and starting from scratch. Assuming that, as I've not looked at Corel Draw to see how easy, or difficult to create text, size to A4 sheet etc. I seem to remember when, I used Serif DrawPlus once, was rather complicated and involved, tied up a lot of time. This might have been at the back of my mind and made me reluctant, to start from scratch in CorelDraw.
Thanks.
I may not be communicating clearly. I wasn't suggesting that you would want to "draw" the letters from scratch in CorelDRAW as graphical objects.
When I want to have letters and/or words in CorelDRAW, then I usually use CorelDRAW's "Text Tool" to create either "Artistic Text" or "Paragraph Text" objects. I can type in the characters I want. I can change font, font size, formatting, etc.
OK. as I say it goes back to my experience of Serif DrawPlus, which was complicated and..... drawn out.... pun intended. I know what your saying, where your coming from. I have the CorelDraw X5 The Official Guide in paperback. I will have to have a read up on using the text tool and programs online help. It could well be a lot easier than I thought.
Cheers..
The only reason I would import characters one-at-a-time - and as graphical objects - would be if that was the only way I could get those characters (e.g., a special font, or characters that have been "reshaped" by an artist to get a particular effect).
If I have (or can get) a suitable font, then I would use the Text tool. There are also many tools available in CorelDRAW for modifying the appearance of text if one needs to do something special with the characters.
