Layers into 1 layer

Hello

How can I make these 3 layers into 1 layer, not in a group, not combine!

Thanks

  • I don't think you can, because those three objects are already on the same layer -- layer 1 -- and that is the only layer in the document.

Vector objects will always be displayed and rendered consecutively from the back -- there is no possibility for two objects to occupy the same position in the rendering order. Even if they did not overlap, so the order was not important, they would still have an order.

What exactly are you trying to do with them?

    • Hello Harry

Your words seems scary to me :) here is what I want exactly, although it was mentioned by you but just in case!

      • I'm not understanding either. You don't have 3 layers, you have 3 objects/curves on one layer. You would have to weld them together to have 1 object on one layer. Look at all those papers and pencils and post it notes on yuor desk there in front of you. They're still on the same "layer" just stacked under each other. Move them to a drawer and you've moved them to another layer.

        • Perhaps there's a confusion here. On other programs, such as PhotoPaint, each "Object" is like a layer (on Photoshop, each "object" is a "Layer"). and you can merge two or more objects in one layer. On vector programs, such as CorelDRAW, illustartor, etc, each "layer" can have a lot of objects. Merging layers on PhotoPaint/Phoshop will decrease the size of the file, but with Vector programs, the size will not change if all are on the same file or if you use some layers (the difference is low if you use a few layers)

If you want to split each object in a separate layers. just create a new layer and drag each object to the layer. But If you have a lot of objects, you will have a lot of layers, and this can cause problems of performance. Also, manage a lot of layers is very difficult

If there are more than one objects on the same layer, the only way to convert to only one onbject is to "combine" obejcts, but this will create only one object, not several objects (only one color and only one outline). So, perhaps the question is ...WHY do doy want to have only one object?
