Hi all. I need help asap.
Few days ago I opened a file in corel x6 and bitstream font navigator found missing fonts and installed them. After that I found that a lot of my fonts are oartly missing and I mean for exaple Arial has only Italic and Bold Italic but no Regular or Normal, Bold and Italic... That happens with a lot of my fonts. Tell me what to do?
I'm with win7 64 bit and cdrX6 + font navigator 64.
Will be gratefull for help.
Regards

install them again,,,, I mean the missing fonts,,,, you would be able to see them in BFN, thats what i did when your problem happened to me.
Well I tryed to reinstall but more confusing is that the fonts in BFN are only bold and bold italic or regular and regular... for one font. There is no Normal/Regular, Italic and Bold Italic and that happens to fonts which have all of these shapes.

The problem of confused regular and italic is a well known problem of bitstream font navigator when used under 64 bit windows 7. It wrongly flags italics as duplicates of the regulars and therefore cannot install them both. See http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/34032.aspx?PageIndex=1
This may never be fixed. Corel has never commented on this problem, but bitstream is not maintaining the program and Corel probably only has limited rights over the bitstream code. But there is no doubt that some, perhaps most, perhaps all, 64 bit users have this problem.
Some of us have found nexusfont to be a usable alternative, which does not have this problem in 64 bit windows 7. If you are using windows 7 then you must uninstall fontnav and install nexusfont in its place.
Harry, thank you for your answer.
Probably that is the answer and I'll try that.
I have never had a problem like that before using 32bit Win and Corel x4.
Bad for Corel that they offer us a 64 bit software / I dont care who keeps the rights for the code/ and it not working properly especially if it's so important for all of us. Managing fonts is a major priority for me as a graphic designer especially when I work with thousend of fonts and keep huge file databese of my clients and install/uninstall fonts and managing them is a must to job.
Hey COREL - solve that problem!!!
Hi Harry,
Thank you for your excellent tip. I´ve already downloaded and install Nexus Font (for free). I enjoyed the versatility of the program (and easy to use). Apparently, I'll say goodbye to the BFN, which, incidentally, is not pleasant to use and I never trusted its performance. It's a shame, but Corel needs to improve, and much more, its font manager.
