I get the "Failed to launch server application" popup on trying to edit bitmap from CorelDRAW X6.
Any suggestions? Have already tried F8 on both DRAW and Paint to no avail.
(CorelDRAW X6 x64 on Win 8.1 x64)
Thanks in advance
Suku
Hello suku; I think it's going to be the Windows 8.1 that's causing your problem.
George
Thanks George :)
Hope someone on Win 8.1 can confirm that.
Hello, Suku.
I have X6.4 running under Windows 8.1 Professional. I can import a bitmap into DRAW and then from DRAW can edit the bitmap in PhotoPaint by going to the menu: Bitmaps->Edit Bitmap. So, the problem must be something got corrupted in your installation of the Graphics Suite or you may have a Windows Boo-Boo (Microsoft does not have 'bugs' ).
The best way to eliminate one of the two, is to put the DVD in the drive, or run the installation file, if you downloaded your CGS fromCorel, and then when the menu appears, select 'Repair'. If this fixes things, then the problem was a corrupted file in the Corel Graphics Suite, else if that did not fix the problem, then your pain comes from Windows.
Hey Suku,
It’s not an 8.1 issue, I have it working fine on my PC, here is a link that may be helpful, specifically the last post regarding the DCOM-service.

Guess it must be the DCOM issue. Have to live with it till I find a way to fix it :)
Thanks to all.
