I'm having issues w/ mouse-wheel zoom in PP X6. I have a dual monitor configuration and it doesn't seem to matter which monitor I'm on. It just goes crazy when I zoom in and it does NOT zoom where my mouse cursor is.
This is truly driving me nuts, because I use the mouse-wheel zoom feature religiously.

Go to: TOOLS > OPTIONS > DISPLAY > ACTIONS FOR MOUSE WHEEL (at bottom of dialog) > choose ZOOM from the drop down list. If that doesn’t work, you may have to reset the workspace by holding down F8 at start up. Phil
Yes. I already mentioned that setting up above and I have it set to exactly that. To be clear, I *am* zooming when I scroll. The problem is that it doesn't zoom to the appropriate X, Y coordinate, which is creating a very crazy, squirrely behavior.
I just want it to zoom at the cursor. That's how it's always worked in the past. It doesn't matter what the document dimensions are. It doesn't matter how far you're already zoomed in or what. If you have a photo of someone's face and you put your mouse cursor over their pupil and zoom in with the scroll wheel then you should be ON their pupil, even when you're so close you can see the pixel grid.
This is how it's supposed to work. Is nobody else having the same problem?
You are correct. In PP, zooming with the mouse is relative to the center of the open bitmap window, and not centered upon the mouse position over the bitmap as in DRAW. (In my haste, I assumed that you were zooming in DRAW, in my last post here.)
My PP workaround is rather simple. When I zoom in on a bitmap, if I am not where I want to be, in relation to the mouse on the bitmap, then I hit the keyboard 'N' and navigate to the appropriate area of the bitmap. It is an extra step, but I have always worked that way (N for navigate on enlarged page/bitmap).
Either you have a corrupt workspace for PP, in one of your computers (which I doubt) or you are using third party mouse drivers, i.e.: Logitech or Microsoft mouse, mouse driver and not using the Windows built in mouse driver, on one of your machines....Even the touchpad on a laptop can act differently than a mechanical mouse, even when you are using the Windows driver(s).

As for the "squirrely" behavior, I suspect the mouse driver.

Probably as designed but not very logical. As for the "squirrely" behavior, I suspect the mouse driver. [/quote] I uninstalled the mouse driver and then it behaved more like I'm used too. Still, not very intuitive, but you're right. This is the way it's always worked in PP and I think it should be fixed. I'm going to start a feature request for it right now.
