Hi Corel Guys and Gals! Can anyone help me figure this one out...I used to be able to choose to measure only horizontal or vertical quotes...Now, I can only find an automaticaly directed measuring tool...I have to measure the height of two very distant points and it automaticallychanges the measuring tool to a horizontal capture...But I don't want that! DAGN IT!!:-)
Hello tetrodesign; These are my choices in X6.
George
Not sure if it applies, but sometimes down and dirty works best. I created tools on screen in PageMaker, such as rulers or angular measurement systems, or area measuring overlays. You can print them out on transparencies and hold them up to the screen, set at a predetermined zoom, for a very quick and reasonably accurate measure, or stick them in a layer or layers set up just for making measurements.
Hey Tetro,
Try Holding the Shift key down as you use the Horizontal & Vertical Dimension tool.
That should constrain it to just going Verticle rather that jumping to Horizontal.
Edit
On further experimentation if the two objects are wider apart than they are vertically apart it won't work :(
Try using Guides and snapping to your guides... I know I hate using guides as well ;)
Hi Chris...Sorry for the late reply...I've tried your solution of holding the SHIFT key so much and I can't to seem to make it work at all!!
Hi Tetro,
In fact shift does not seem to have any effect in this situation at all.
If the objects are further apart horizontally than they are vertically it will go to horizontal Dimension, Bummer!
