hi i noticed that when i try to print anything that has a black in it it comes out looking greyish but when i print the test page from my printer the black comes out looking black so i dont know what im doing wrong
on the bottom of the design page i see some thing saying
(Document color profiles: RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1; CMYK: U.S. Web Coated(SWOP) v2; Grayscale: Dot Gain 20%)
dont know if that help to assist in solving my problem

Ok don't check that check box, it's a bad idea, because it causes conversion issues with images.
What is you document default color mode? I suspect it may be RGB.
I suspect that you're using an RGB color mode document but using black from the cmyk color model, it will properly display as a deep gray.
Use black from an RGB palette.
At www.graphictechnology.com there are color palettes, ICC profiles for free download and color management books for CorelDRAW you can purchase.

What I should have said is that this would have resolved your display issue. To resolve it properly go to my web site www.graphictechnology.com/downloads and download the free custom color palettes and use the black for mixed rgb work flows palette and use it for black printing it works in postscript and non-postscript environments.
The reason this happens is due to an issue with color management NOT a Corel issue but an issue between ICC compliance, PS and Non-PS print streams. Selecting preserve pure black is a poor solution for those who wish an ICC compliant work flow and want to maintain quality color conversions. It is however a reasonable choice for laser engravers.
I tried to get the download because I am also having the same issues but that address doesn't work. Can you help, please?
