A little macro toy for easy selections by fill/outline (color).

Hi all,

There comes a time in one's life when there's a need to select all shapes of certain fill, or certain outline, perhaps even ones without either.

The Find function has often come over a cumbersome so I made a little macro to make this easier (it's an animated gif, you may need to click it to see it in action):

This helps you select those pesky hidden other colorspace shapes, as well as mix and match certain selection criteria.

It's a little rough around the edges and probably won't find gradients with spot colors or such, but for basic uses it should be good enough. Also Shelby would probably send me into exile for how unelegant the code is, but well...

Enjoy!

  • Ok, since we gotta have unique features now I dug out something older that was of use on some projects and gave it a GUI - Select colors by similarity. This is quite neat if you have been importing things from all sorts of color profiles and such and are now unsure if, for example, all your reds are the same. Just adjust the value and press the button. First button of each type (i.e. "Fill") selects first available instance of a similar color if there is one. The "All" button selects all of them.

I have updated the archive in the first post with the latest version. Enjoy!
