*.cdr was modified by another user since you opened the file

Corel 7.3, Win 7 64bit.

Suddenly im getting the message below when saving. Sometimes it happens instantly other times I get a couple of saves before it pops up. Its massively annoying as saving progress means i have use saves as with a new file name every time.

There is only 1 corel user and only 1 windows user (Admin) for the PC Im working on.

Any suggestions?

sometimes "the other user" is Windows, because the file is open on Windows Explorer and the operating system is generating the image preview

Hello DallvidonCorel; To go along with what Ariel is saying, most of us that have been using Corel for awhile use "Save As" right after starting a file then as we are working we use Ctrl+s to save the file. If you look at the screen shot you posted it says Users no user.

I've been using Corel for about 18 years saving successfully all the while. Using X7 for at least 6 months with no changes to the PC. The only changes I can think of that matter have been corel version updates. This issue just started out of no where.

Why would windows suddenly be interferring with corel .

It doesnt say users, just user, not that I get what you mean by it. Currenttly for every save I am having to apply a new name. It wout even overwrite the previous name. (&^#*&^%#!!!

Possibly a recent update to windows, or to another program such as a virus scanner or similar.

I have the same issue all of the time. At least once a day on completely different files that I know no one else is using. It started happening for me after I did this last 4 update. It's driving me insane. I know that now we're on the cloud it's taking files a lot longer to save and it's also started creating multiple backups for me, which is super annoying. So i've let this file sit and I wait to see if it just takes some time, but it won't overwrite. I have to save it as a new file. It has nothing to do with windows or explorer. This starting happening immediately after the 4 update.
