Apostrophe problem

When I type an apostrophe for an abbreviated date ( '17 for 2017) the apostrophe is supposed to face to the left - like the #9 but it doesn't. Is there a way to fix that? I have 60 nametags to fix now because none of my apostrophes are facing the right way.

You might be getting unwanted assistance from CorelDRAW's "QuickCorrect" feature:

To repair the stuff you already have, you could type in something with both opening and closing curly quotes to get examples of both, then copy the one you want to paste in place of the other one.

You could also approach this using a find-and-replace.

When I need to enter one of these characters, I sometimes find it convenient to use the Windows "Alt+code" way of doing it: hold down the Alt key and type codes in on the numeric keypad.

The opening curly single quote is code 0145.

The closing curly single quote is code 0146.
