Hi -
Anyone know either of the following? -
1. How to colorize a B&W photo in Corel Photo-Paint, Version 7.0?
2. How to colorize a B&W photo in any decent, free or very inexpensive colorizing software program that's simple to use, such that it may even do it automatically for the user with very few, simple steps or processes?
For now, I want to colorize just 1 particular B&W photo, the following 1981 headshot of actress Christine Lahti from the Richard Dreyfuss drama movie "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" -
Is it even possible to somehow get a kind someone to colorize just this 1 particular photo for me, either for free or just a very small fee? So far I've already tried several "highly-recommended" free software programs on the 'Net, but have been frustrated so far because it seems that all of them are either too complicated to use (for advanced users rather than beginners) or all they seem to do is tint the photo slightly in a hue that's almost the same as either her facial skin or her hair color. I don't know what color her lipstick/lips are supposed to be, but at least I know that her eyes are supposed to be either hazel or brown.
Any help whatsoever would be very much appreciated - THANKS!
Create a new layer/object for each colour or area you want to paint on, then paint with a flat colour on that layer then change the Merge Mode for each layer from Normal to either Soft Light or Color Dodge (and maybe play around with transparency as well).
This took less than 10 minutes. I'm sure you can do better if you take a bit more time and care.
Nice job, Roy
I looked her up afterwards - she has brown eyes!
THANKS very much to everyone who replied - it's all very appreciated. And THANKS very much esp. for the new colorized version. I did mention before that Christine's eyes are either hazel or brown, so other than that, the new pic looks far better than anything I could do myself.
I'm not sure if I can try to correct the eye color, as I may screw it badly & even make it worse, so if anyone would be kind enough to be willing to give it a shot, it would be tremendously appreciated. If not, then thanks anyway, as now I at least have something considerably better overall to work with. THANKS again.
Here she is with brown eyes.
I've also attached the CPT file (zipped) so you can play yourself.
Lahti-Christine-34.zip
Again, THANKS very much to everyone, esp. for the colorized pics. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do anything with the ZIP file after extraction because apparently Corel Photo-Paint (Version 7) is the only program that deals with such a file type on my Dell PC, and when I try to open it in Corel P-P, it just says "invalid header". But the pic with the corrected eye color is pretty much all that I need now, and so THANKS very much again!
