Hi, I have built a couple of websites to send off to our server but each time I try it just crashes. I have tried creating a new one, I have tested my settings for the server and it says they are successful, I have downloaded Filezilla FTP and can connect to the server using the same settings??? Nothing is as straightforward as it seems but I have persevered only to find I can't load a site, is this a common problem? I think it just doesn't work. I have read the 'help' files, which aren't very, but have found that I can't load it to the server any other way, at least I don't think so.. has anyone out there got any suggestions as I'm beginning to think I have made a bad choice with these programs???!!!

Hi again,
Sorry I should not knock the program you might like it.

The server has FTP access, that is how you upload the files. ftp:yourdomain.com and a user/password. You should be able to upload the files once you sign in. In most cases you see your files on the right and the server on the left. On the server you will see a few files and some you might not be able to upload to, you want the live folder which might be named something like "httpdocs" When you say you can't load to server what exactly do you mean, step by step.
Can you sign in?
What do you see?
What folder are you trying to load your files to?
Do you have ftp access, some have to load via an admin panel?
Hi Bob
I agree with the Corel comments, I have used it for years and really like it for other projects and had hoped that the web builder would be as good, you're right, it's nothing like, even the basic templates aren't that user friendly, the help files tell me how good it is but not how to do things!!!
However, I have had a little success, I unchecked the 'Passive' in the settings, I managed to upload a single page site and have managed to upload some of another site by loading pages individually but it still crashes when I try and load the complete site, I can't load/see the contact us page nor the about page and I have tried to load them individually too but it doesn't seem to like them. I will try and load them from another FTP program again and see if that helps.
I have also contacted NetObjects who told me to update my Java which I have. I am going to keep trying so if you have any other suggestions I'd be please to try them too.
Thanks
Uploading with a separate FTP programme should sort out your problem, but I have one suggestion - dump Corel Website Creator. It really isn't a very good programme and in my opinion (backed by 18 years of designing and making websites) shouldn't be included with a professional graphic suite.
If you want something that's a bit like Dreamweaver but without having to accept Adobe's ridiculous renting methods and prices you could try downloading MS Expression Web. It has either a code or WYSIWYG interface and it's free.

Totally agree.

That should have nothing to do with being able to up load files. It is hard to say why you can't see what you uploaded as I have no idea what you uploaded (code wise). I spent hours with that web creator really wanting to like it. I wish it were on a disc so I would have something to throw out the window>G<
Although you have time and effort into what you are working on. I suggest you try what Roy says. I know a few people that use that program and like it.
