I realize why "Revert to Saved" is grayed out for new documents, but really, there's only one thing a user could possibly be trying to do when clicking this command on a new document. Just restore the document to a blank canvas with the original dimension setting.

"Revert to saved" is intended for saved documents. If you have a new, unsaved document, there's no a restore point. Only you can open one of the most recent documents
I realize that, but would it really hurt to just restore the blank canvas at the original dimensions? Who cares what "Revert to Saved" was "intended" for? All Corel needs to do is use the same idea of the checkpoint on newly created documents, keeping in mind that they may also want to create a checkpoint, which shouldn't overwrite the simulated "Revert to Saved" checkpoint.
